The Tonic Review is a literary magazine that was started in October of 2024 at Cardiff University. Since then, we have been growing rapidly and are now open to submissions not just from Cardiff University Students, but all students of further education in Wales.

We are a member of the Student Publication Association and were awarded Highly Commended Best Newcomer Publication at the SPA National Conference 2025. We are dedicated to creating space for Welsh students’ writing in all its forms, from translation to odes about the Valleys. This is a space for students to gain publication, find community and improve their work.
